The CLO Programme is a dedicated senior management development network for Chief Legal Officers (CLOs), General Counsel and Heads of Legal Departments. The network, which operates on an annual membership basis, comprises more than 100 members belonging to legal teams of varying sizes from large organisations. Members are drawn from all industries and sectors and are principally from the FTSE World, Fortune 500, FTSE 250 and major public sector organisations.
Membership of the programme places you and your enterprise at the heart of a network of peers and experts. It gives you access to a community of like minded people open to sharing ideas and knowledge about the same issues that concern you.
The objectives of the network are to enable you to:
- Lead and manage your team and resources to optimum effectiveness
- Keep you at the forefront of innovation and best practice
- Anticipate and surpass your role and corporate obligations
- Increase the performance of your organisation and enable this performance to be benchmarked against peers
The network is run by its members for the members. An advisory panel is appointed as guardians of this principle, to provide advice and guidance regarding the continued development and management of The CLO Programme.
The Network provides significant intellectual capital and interaction at a senior level. Key components include: - A dedicated annual network programme built around members' needs
- Daytime meetings for 12 - 16 members
- Hosted dinners for around 24 GCs with guest speakers
- Friday “Director Days” for up to 50 GCs with three top-rated speakers
- Access to a focused leadership and personal development programme

- Personal support in role, leveraging the experience and know-how of members
- The provision of market intelligence, case studies, benchmarking reports and diagnostic tools
- Personal testimony from fellow members of their own business case studies
- Instant feedback from fellow members by questioning them on their response to current challenges, and practical issues that arise when managing the legal function
